Six Georgian nationals who received two-years suspended sentence each after pleading guilty to knowingly dealing with forged documents, when they entered Tonga on stolen Greek passports in September, have each paid their $1,000 pa’anga fine to the Supreme Court and are still in the country.

Six Georgian nationals who pleaded guilty to knowingly dealing with forged documents, after entering Tonga on stolen Greek passports, were each given two-years suspended prison sentences, and ordered to pay $1,000 pa'anga each to the Supreme Court today. They are ordered to leave Tonga within two weeks, ordered a Supreme Court judge in Nuku'alofa.

A group of seven Georgians have been shifted by Tonga Police from accomodation in Tofoa to an undisclosed place over the weekend. Tonga Police said they had reasons to move the group which they could not yet disclose.

Seven Georgians including a 10-year-old boy appeared at the Fasi Magistrate’s Court in Nuku’alofa this morning similarly charged with dealing with forged documents, namely stolen Greek passports. The charge against the boy Armaz Khuluzauri a.k.a. Nilolaos Markopouloswas struck off.

Seven Georgians who arrived in Tonga on September 22 with allegedly stolen Greek passports, were arrested today and charged with dealing with forged documents. They are to appear at the Nuku'alofa Magistrate’s Court on Monday, October 10.
