The debt-burdened Tonga Forest Products Ltd. was in big trouble and being propped up by government, Hon. Poasi Tei, the Minister for Public Enterprises, told the Tongan Parliament on Thursday, 16 June. He said they had signed an agreement for a Maori company to take over and settle the loans.
