Greenpeace is criticizing the Western & Central Pacific Fisheries Commissions (WCPFC) for its lack of transparency in technical and compliance meetings held last week in Pohnpei, Micronesia, and voiced its alarm at what it called the failure of WCPFC members to sustainably manage tuna stocks.

Tuna Stocks are declining and current management measures are failing to restore stocks. This according to the Scientific Committee of the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission who concluded a ten day meeting on Monday August 19 in Pohnpei, Micronesia.
