Tonga’s Deputy Commissioner of Community Policing Soakai Motu’apuaka (60) has retired after 35-years of service. Having served in the US Army and trained at the New Zealand Police College, the top cop was farewelled with a parade at the Police Headquarters in Longolongo, Nuku‘alofa, on Thursday, 14 November.

A 37-year-old father in ‘Ohonua, ‘Eua, has been charged with manslaughter in relation to the death of his 10-year-old son after he crashed into a tree in an accident alleged to have been caused by faulty brakes, on September 5.
