As of today, 13 new cases of Dengue Fever were reported with positive rapid tests, which brings up the total cumulative cases to 266 in Tonga, the Ministry of Health stated in its Situation Report for 14 March. There is ongoing case investigation and vector control to hot spots and high risk areas, and awareness programs to communities. “Faka’ilonga ‘o e pukelahi he tengi ko e langakete, fanoa toto he te’enifo, pe lua toto, pea ‘oku fiema’u ke feinga leva ki ha tokoni fakafaito’o.”

The Ministry of Health (MOH) reported the youngest age affected in the dengue fever outbreak is eight months old. Meanwhile, as of Sunday, 2 March, the total number of dengue fever (DF) cases in Tonga has risen to 88, with 38 cases in Tongatapu, 36 in Vava'u, and 14 in 'Eua.

Today, the Ministry of Health recorded 48 new dengue fever cases, bringing the total number of cases to 58. The infection is spreading rapidly in Vava'u, which now has 26 cases. The Public Health Emergency Operation Center has been activated.
