A Magistrate in Nuku’alofa is expected to decide on February 18 whether there is a case for committal to the Supreme Court against two Chinese nationals charged in relation to the forgery of Tongan passports. Police reported that the woman accused had tried to leave Tonga allegedly on a forged Tongan passport after they both entered on Chinese passports on October 11, 2013.

With that kind of ill-disciplined behavior shown by those Tongans they have a long way to earn any respect or adhere to rules of law. They try to portray themselves as friendly and peace loving people when try attract tourists and donation from other people but few people know the violent ill-disciplined nature of Tongan who attacked Chinese in Tonga.

FROM OUR ARCHIVES: A business venture in Mainland China turned into a diplomatic mission for Princess Pilolevu and her team. Tonga has severed its long-standing relationship with Taiwan and established new links with Mainland China in a diplomatic reshuffling. Tonga’s newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs, the King’s youngest son, Prince ‘Ulukalala Lavaka-Ata, flew to Beijing and signed a joint communiqué on October 26, which declared that: “the Kingdom of Tonga recognises that the Government of the People’s Republic of China is the sole legal government representing the whole of China and, that Taiwan is an inalienable part of the Chinese Territory.” By Pesi Fonua.
