2. Internal Control Officer at MBF Bank, Tonga

MBF Bank Tonga is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, and skilled Internal Control Officer to join our dynamic team! As a key player in ensuring the integrity of our operations, the Internal Control Officer will be responsible for evaluating and strengthening the bank's internal controls, helping to mitigate risks, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct checks on days vouchers of all departments.
  • Conduct risk assessments and audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls.
  • Monitor and review internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Identify potential weaknesses in operational processes and recommend improvements.
  • Work closely with management to implement controls that support the bank’s operational efficiency and reduce risk exposure.
  • Assist with the preparation of audit reports and action plans to resolve identified issues.
  • Support ongoing efforts to maintain and improve the bank’s internal control framework.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 years of experience in internal auditing, risk management, or internal control within the banking or financial services industry. Banking experience will be an advantage.\
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and internal control frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
