• Principal Training Officer, Tonga – Pacific Labour Facility

The Principal Training Officer will lead the Training Team within the Overseas Employment Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of the Kingdom of Tonga. The role reports to the Deputy CEO of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Key focus of role includes :
- Develop & coordinate the annual outreach program throughout Tonga
- Work with the OED team to schedule and plan Pre and Post Departure Briefings for PALM workers and their families to support their preparations before they depart for and return from overseas.
- Lead the Training team to support their facilitation, development and review of training and skills programs
Applicants must demonstrate:
- Minimum Certificate II or equivalent in Train the Trainer
- Experience working in or with the civil service, including with senior management
- Experience in leading a small team or supervisory responsibilities
- Excellent communication skills in both Tongan and English
- Understand local customs and traditions
This is a Nuku’alofa based role, candidates who are willing to relocate for the position must do so at their own expense. Open to Tongan Nationals and permanent residents. The successful candidate will be offered an initial contract to 31 December 2024.
