A masterpiece island creation worn by Miss Tikaway Creations, Meleane Pulotufietau Brown wowed the crowd during a showcase of impressive island creations for the Miss Heilala judging event last night, 2 July 2026 at the 'Atele Indoor Stadium.

Wearing a dramatic cloak, a feather skirt in bold colors, and a stunning headpiece, Miss Tikaway Creations, made it her night. She later revealed layers of different outfits showing the origin of the Tongan ta’ovala and old weaving techniques. Her entire outfit was made from the back splits of kie leaves (pandanus) and decorated with the fotulona seeds. Miss Tikaway Creations’ island creation was made by a well-known Auckland, New Zealand-based fashion designer, Tenisha Asaeli.
The other contestants followed with their own unique island creations made from local materials, including coconut shells, ifi leaves, tapa cloth, fine woven mats, and shiny pearls.
