An annual Public Holiday commemorating Anniversary of the Coronation of Tupou I on 4 December, will be observed on Monday 8 December.
It follows section 2 of the Public Holiday Acts that states, a public holiday that falls on a Thursday and Friday will be observed on the following Mondays.
The celebration is to honour our first monarch and the reign of the Tupou dynasty that began on 4 December 1845.
