Pesi will be brought to the House, Matangi Tonga Office, Vuna Road, Houmakelikao on Friday 17 October 2025 at 3:00pm for a farewell. Family and Friends are welcome to attend the viewing and sign a condolence book from 4:00pm to 10:00pm. (Please contact Pale Hu'akau 724-0343 if you wish to make a group time).
The funeral service will be held at the SDA Church Mangaia, Nuku'alofa 1:00pm Saturday 18 October 2025. The burial will take place at the cemetery "Mala'e ko Fala Oloveti 'o Nukuleva", located near the village of Vaotu'u, at 3:00pm Saturday.

2:00pm Hearse departs Vaiola morgue for transfer home.
3:00pm – SDA Church, Failotu at home

11:45am funeral procession leaves for at SDA Church Mangaia, Taufa’ahau Rd., Nuku'alofa.
12:30pm Please be seated at church.
1:00 – 2:00pm Funeral Service at SDA Church Mangaia, Taufa’ahau Rd, In the presence of HM Queen Nanasipau'u
2:30pm Leave SDA church for transfer to cemetery (Mala'e ko Fala Oloveti 'o Nukuleva Cemetery) outside Vaotu’u.
3:00pm Hearse arrives at Vaotu’u (using Liku Road), turn right for cemetery located outside the village (through road to Nukunuku).
3:00- 4:00pm Completion of funeral service and burial at cemetery.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Pesi Siale Fonua (78), well known Pacific Islands journalist, publisher of Matangi Tonga Online, and beloved husband, father and grandfather, who died on 12 October 2025, at Vaiola Hospital in Tonga.
