Safer Schools Program will strengthen buildings against natural disasters

Currently across Tonga, Samoa, and Vanuatu, between 50-90% of school buildings are at high risk of major damage following disasters. A Safer Schools Program aims to reduce risks by strengthening school infrastructure against the impacts of natural disasters. The World Bank's emergency finance package to support Tonga’s post-disaster recovery and reconstruction needs will include building more disaster resilient schools.
