The popular comedic duo the Laughing Samoans are in Tonga for two hilarious concerts on December 11-12 in support of the Walk on Walk Strong Foundation (WOWS).
'Etuate Ete and Tofiga Fepulea’i who arrived in Nuku’alofa from New Zealand yesterday, Tuesday 9 December said they were very excited to bring laughter to the people of Tonga while supporting a good cause.
'Etuate said the “Fresh off Da Blane” show for the Queen Salote College Hall is a new one.
The duo have performed throughout New Zealand, Australia and in some Pacific islands earlier in the year. “We thought coming to Tonga and holding the fundraising concernts is a fitting way to end our tour,” he said.
Tofiga said he was looking forward to performing characters like Aunty Tala. He couldn't wait for the show and had the crowd laughing at his press conference at the Tungi Colonnade yesterday.
The WOWS Foundation for child cancer was established in memory of Lu‘isa Tae Kami Jr. (15) who died in 2008 after a courageous three-year battle with cancer. All proceeds of the concerts will be donated to the foundation.
The Laughing Samoans who are in Tonga for the second time, made a special visit to the Children's Ward at Vaiola Hospital today and presented Christmas presents and cheer.
They are brought to Tonga this year by sponsors Tonga Communications Corporation (TCC), Little Italy and Kingdom Travel.
