The public are hereby advised and invited to apply for a vacancy available within the Tonga Fire and Emergency Services. The job vacancies include One (1) Emergency Response Commander One (1) Public Awareness Officer and One (1) Human Resource Officer.
Minimum Requirement (Qualification & Experience) for Emergency Response Commander
- Postgraduate qualification (Level 8 TNQAB framework: (postgraduate Diploma/BA with honours + 2) (MA + 1 ) years’ experience in a similar role OR Current TFES employee with 7 years’ experience in a similar role (meeting other core competency and experience requirements specified in the job description + PMS scores of 3 or above for the past 2 consecutive years.
The position for Emergency Response Commander will hold the rank of full time Fire Commander at Salary Band I ($34,342 - $51,511).

Minimum Requirement (Qualification & Experience) for Public Awareness Officer
- Diploma in Fire Technology, Fire Science, Emergency Management, Education, or related field, with at least 3 years relevant work experience; OR Current TFES employee with 5 years’ experience in a similar role (meeting other core competency and experience requirements specified in the job description + PMS scores of 3 or above for the past 2 consecutive years).
The position for Public Awareness Officer will hold the rank of full time Fire Officer at Salary Band L ($22,133 - $33,194).
Minimum Requirement (Qualification & Experience) for Human Resource Officer
- Relevant Diploma Level 5/6 TNQAB framework in HR, Business Administration, Management, or relevant fields + up to 3 years’ relevant work experience
- Relevant certificate level 4 in HR, Business Administration, Management, or relevant fields + 3 years’ relevant work experience
- Current TPS employee with 5 years’ experience in a similar role (meeting other core competency and experience requirements specified in the job description + PMS scores 3 or above for the past 2 consecutive years).
The position for Human Resource Officer will hold the rank of full time Senior Firefighter at Salary Band M ($17,171 - $25,757).

- Ability to be flexible and adaptable if posted to work either 24-hours under the Operation Division or working 8-hours per day at other divisions of the Services.
