Young women from communities across Tonga celebrated the completion of the fourth phase of a development programme ‘This Is How We Football’, at the Loto-Tonga Soka Centre on Saturday, 11 July 206.

The festival brought together young players, coaches and supporters for a day of football, games and learning, recognising the progress participants have made throughout the grassroots development initiative.

Organisers highlighted the confidence, teamwork and football skills developed by the young female players during the programme.

Community coaches were commended for their ongoing commitment to delivering football opportunities at the local level, while participants were recognised for their enthusiasm and dedication.

The ‘This Is How We Football’ programme aims to encourage greater participation among girls by providing a fun, inclusive and supportive environment to develop their skills and enjoyment of the game.

Organisers said they were preparing for Session 5, where participants will continue their football development through community-based training and activities.
