The Tongan Government has urged its citizens in the Middle East to exercise heightened caution and register with its embassy following reports of military strikes on Iran by Israel and the United States.
In an advisory warning dated “Tu'apulelulu, 26th Fepueli 2026” and released Saturday evening, officials warned of increased regional tensions that could affect travel and safety.
The notice, published on the Facebook page of His Majesty’s Diplomatic Services, said there is an elevated risk of instability across the region.
“There is an increased risk of regional tension in the Middle East. Any escalation may result in travel disruptions and other unforeseen impacts for those currently in the region,” the advisory stated.
Tongan nationals residing in or travelling through the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region have been advised to remain vigilant at all times.
The government has also called on all Tongans in the region to register their names and contact details with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Tonga in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Major international news agencies reported that the strikes by Israel and the United States risk plunging the Middle East into a wider conflict.
Global airlines began cancelling flights across parts of the Middle East on Saturday amid growing security concerns.
