MV Pulupaki condolences

USA

Editor,

On behalf of our family and Uata Shipping line, we wish to express our sincere condolences to the families and love ones of those still missing from the tragic loss of the MV Princess Ashika. Within minutes of the distress call, our vessel MV Pulupaki was immediately dispatched to the search and rescue area to recover the survivors.

Our vessels stand ready and we continue to offer help wherever possible within the scope of the planned rescue mission of the MV Ashika.

We wish to reassure the public that our vessel MV Pulupaki continues to meet the highest standard of maritime seaworthiness and will continue to provide the same services to the Vava'u and Ha'apai Groups as we have done for years. Our vessel, MV Tautahi had been under major overhaul repairs and also ready to resume the same services for the Northern Groups.

We offer our general goodwill towards Shipping Corporation and the Government of Tonga; we hope that our humanity will inspire us to be united and reach for a higher purpose and a far reaching vision for the future of Tonga.

We offer our highest hope for the families and love ones of those we continue to search for in the area and may the blessing of God Almighty be upon you forever more to find comfort and closure henceforth.

Sincerely Yours,

Thomas M. (Soni) Uata
