Lolina ‘Ofa (24) was sentenced to 15-months imprisonment for numerous counts of forgery and theft of $18,189 pa’anga from a family business. The sentence was fully suspended, at the Nuku'alofa Surpeme Court. "I believe the defendant had mistakenly believed that this idea of taking whatever you want from your fa'etangata would be applicable in her case, but unfortunately the complainant did not share her logic," said the judge.

‘Inoke Huakau (39) was sentenced at the Nuku'alofa Supreme Court, to six-months imprisonment, which was fully suspended for possession of 0.29 grams of methamphetamine in 2019.

Sesilia Uaisele was found guilty on possession of 0.02 grams of methamphetamine, seized inside her co-accused vehicle at the bus station in Nuku'alofa. “A substantial amount of money was found in her bag and purse. Empty plastic packs were also found in the car. All these items are consistent with items possessed by someone dealing or using drugs,” said the judge, in the Nuku'alofa Supreme Court.

Kuliti Tongamoa, aka “Creed”, who supplied cocaine to a former international rugby player 'Epeli Taione (41) at 'Umusi in January, was found guilty on two counts of supplying illicit drugs; while Taione was found guilty of possession of illicit drugs, in a verdict delivered in the Nuku'alofa Supreme Court on December 11. They will be sentenced on 19 February, 2021.

Feinga ki he Lotu Fanguna who was convicted of importing a .22 rifle without a licence, which he ordered from the United States was fined $500 pa’anga, at the Nuku'alofa Supreme Court. He had applied for a licence which was issued to him, after he was arrested on this offence.

Finau Pomale (47) was sentenced to eight-months imprisonment for possession of 0.6 grams of methamphetamine and 8.40 grams of cannabis at Fatai this year. The sentence was fully suspended on conditions.

Sione Senituli Lave [30] was sentenced to six-months imprisonment for possession of 0.11 grams possession of methamphetamine, seized on Hihifo Road in October last year.
