Tonga's health officials have not yet confirmed one COVID-positive test from a passenger who arrived in Tonga from Christchurch on the evening of Wednesday 27 October. No official announcement has been made but a statement from the Prime Minister's Office is expected later today, Friday

There were 8000 Tongans stuck overseas because of the COVID-19 border restrictions and wanting to return home, when the repatriation flights ended this week. They include 13 Tongans stuck in India. The repatriation flights may resume in February next year, Hon. Poasi Tei, the Minister for MEIDECC told parliament. From the House by Pesi Fonua.

The 252 repatriated passengers from Auckland and Brisbane have been released from quarantine after testing negative for CoViD-19 confirmed Dr Siale ‘Akau’ola on Saturday evening, 14 November. Two more flights are due to arrive from Auckland on 19 November, and from Brisbane on 24 November.
