Tonga has taken a major step toward improving food security with the launch of its first-ever Tonga National Soil Strategy, aimed at strengthening soil management and supporting sustainable agriculture. Soil scientist and former Agriculture CEO Dr. Siosiua Halavatau, also highlighted an urgent need to build technical capacity in soil science for Tonga.
