Fifteen young women from the Eremeran Study Centre in Sydney, Australia volunteered in Nuku'alofa for two-weeks earlier this month, and helped to paint St Joseph's Business College and along with other community work.

The 175th Anniversary of the Catholic Church in Tonga on Sunday, July 2 was celebrated with a mass led by HE Cardinal Mafi at Pangaimotu Island, the site of a white cross that marks the first mass held on July 2, 1842.

A dramatic Good Friday procession gathered a crowd in Nuku'alofa today as members of the Catholic Church marched along Hala Vuna from Hala Alamea to the St Mary’s Cathedral, Ma’ufanga. The event was dramatized: a white robed carrier of the cross wearing a crown of thorns was whipped, kicked and punched by companions dressed as Roman soldiers.
