Assignment: IC08b Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Officer
Deadline: 25 March 2026
The Government of Tonga has received financing from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Japan Fund for Prosperous and Resilient Asia and the Pacific, and Climate Change Fund, toward the cost of the Integrated Aged Care Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.
The consulting services (“the Services”) include the implementation and monitoring of the Gender Action Plan and associated gender equality and social inclusion and gender-based violence prevention activities. The assignment is expected to commence in May 2026 and continue to January 2029. Key responsibilities include:
- Social development and inclusion
- Gender equality and social inclusion mainstreaming
- Stakeholder engagement and community outreach
- Monitoring, reporting and data management
- Quality assurance and cross-cutting support
Minimum Qualifications
- A degree in social sciences, development studies, or a related field;
- At least five (5) years of demonstrated experience in social development;
- Proven experience with ADB or other development partner-funded projects is preferred;
- Strong background in gender equality, social inclusion, and community engagement;
- Familiarity with gender issues in Tonga, particularly in the context of older people and disability inclusion.
