JOB VACANCIES

The Ministry of Trade and Economic Development advises that the following vacancies are open to interested applicants from within and outside the Public Service.

Applications must include a cover letter addressed to the Chief Executive Office, Ministry of Trade and Economic Development, Nuku'alofa, together with all relevant supporting documents (e.g. certified copies of academic transcripts and certificates, reference letters, and an updated CV). Applicants from outside the Public Service must also provide a certified copy of their birth registration and a police record.

Applications may also be hand-delivered to the Ministry Headquarters at Fasi mo e Afi; however, hand-delivered applications will not be accepted during the Government Christmas closure period (22 December 2025 to. 2 January 2026). Applications close at 4:00pm Friday 9th January, 2026. Late applications will not be considered.

  • PHD with at least one-year of relevant working experience.
  • Master's Degree with at least 3 years' experience in a similar role OR at least 5 years relevant working experience.
  • Post Graduate Diploma with at least 4 years' experience in a similar role or at least 6 years relevant working experience.
  • Bachelor's degree with at least 7 years' experience in a similar role or at least 10 years relevant working experience.

Qualifications acceptable for this role must be in Commerce, Economics, Trade, Human Resource Management, Social and Economic Development, Law, Finance, Investment or Labour from a recognized educational institution.
