Design a winning Logo for the 53rd Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting in Tonga and WIN $1000

The Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) in conjunction with the Community Awareness, Beautification, Marketing & Promotion Sub-Committee (CABMPSC), calls for submissions of logos from our talented Tongan artists. The winning logo will be used for a new visual identity and branding for the 53 rd Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting.

Eligibility

  • The competition is open only to individuals over 18 years old.
  • Contestants must be a Tongan national.

How to Enter

  • All entries must be submitted by email directly to the CEO of Tourism Mr. Viliami Takau vtakau [at] gmail [dot] com  for consideration and review as an official entry of the competition.
  • Entries must be submitted as a scalable vector graphic in SVG format AND as a Hi-Res PNG.
  • The submission email must include the full name(s) of the person(s) who designed the logo, age, phone number, and email address of the individual submitting the entry.
  • No more than 1 entry be submitted by any one individual.
  • Entries must conform to the Submission Guidelines set out below.
  • The deadline for Entries is 4:30 pm on Monday 25 March 2024, Tongan time.
  • We will attempt to acknowledge all entries within one week of receipt; however, we cannot be responsible for entries or responses lost in email.
  • There is no fee to enter the competition.
  • Winners will be announced via our social media, and by direct contact with the winners’ email account.

Submission Guidelines

  • This competition aims to design a logo for the 53 rd Pacific Islands Leaders Forum Leaders Meeting.
  • The logo will be used online (website, and social media) feature in promotional videos, in print, and on merchandise.
  • The final version of the logo will need to be suitable for high-quality printing. It should be visually appealing on both small (as small as 2 cm x 2 cm) and large scales.
  • The designer is welcome to submit up to two (2) variants of the logo.
  • Must reflect Tonga as the host of the 53 rd Pacific Islands Forum Meetings and Pan Pacific (The Pacific Way).

Prizes

  • Subject to the legal requirements outlined above, the winning design will be announced on 02 April 2024. The winning contestant will receive a cash prize of T$1,000.

Judging and Selection of Winner

  • The winning design will be selected by the JCC and the CABMPSC.
  • Entries will be judged on their visual appeal, adherence to the concept prompting the competition, quality of design, and ease of reproduction for the above-mentioned purposes.
  • The simplicity, originality, timeliness, balance & proportion, versatility, and scalability of the design
  • JCC reserves the right not to select a winner if, at its sole discretion, no suitable entries are received.
  • JCC reserves the right to disqualify any entrant or entry at its sole discretion. No correspondence shall be entered into.
  • The winner must sign a contract assigning all ownership of the logo to the Kingdom of Tonga and JCC.
  • The winner will be notified via email and announced on the Prime Minister’s Office's social media and website on the date mentioned above.

Intellectual Property

  • All Entrants affirm their submissions are their original work, have not been copied from others or previous designs, including their own, and do not violate the intellectual property rights of any other person or entity.
  • Entries that are not selected will not be used by JCC, except through direct permission of the applicant.
  • JCC shall have the right to adapt, edit, modify, or otherwise use the winning submission in part or its entirety in whatever manner it deems appropriate.
  • JCC reserves the right to choose not to use the winning entry as described in these competition guidelines.

Disclaimer

  • JCC is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, incomplete, illegible, or otherwise unusable entries, including entries lost or unusable due to computer, internet, or electronic problems.
  • JCC reserves the right to cancel or modify the Competition and award the prize by alternate means if fraud or technical failure is determined at any time, including after the closed submission window
  • JCC is not liable for winner and prize notification and delivery in the event the competition winner has provided incorrect, outdated, or otherwise invalid contact information.
