Deputy CEO – Chief Operation Officer

  • The COO will provide leadership and strategic vision to the Authority. The COO will bring operational, managerial and administrative procedures, reporting structures and operation controls to the company. The COO will effectively communicate and foster growth among the executive team and all employees. This is a vital leadership role that will drive results, spur growth and increase the overall efficiency of the corporation.
  • A Master’s degree in Management or relevant field from a recognized institution.
  • A degree in Port Management will be an advantage.
  • Five years working experience in Port management will be an advantage.
  • Five-year experience in a Senior Management Position is required.
  • A sound knowledge of computerized billing system.
  • The role is accountable for the operation function of the Ports Authority Tonga which includes planning, monitoring, analysing, and reviewing of operation policies and procedures to ensure that Safety in the work environment, efficiency is achieved through continuous improvement of operational process, delivery if quality services to customers and ensure the completion and accuracy and completion of billing and collection of revenue owed to the Authority.
  • Through the provision of high-quality advice and reporting to the Senior Management team, the role will support decision making to meet the strategic and operational objectives of Ports Authority Tonga.

General Manager Operation

  • This role will be responsible for planning, monitoring, analysing and reviewing of operation policies and procedures to ensure that Safety in the work environment, efficiency is achieved through continuous improvement of operational process, delivery of quality services to customers and ensure the completion and accuracy of billing and collection of revenue owed to the Authority.
  • A Degree in Management or relevant field from a recognized institution.
  • A degree in Port Management will be an advantage.
  • Five years working experience in Port management will be an advantage.
  • Five years experience in a Senior Management Position is required.
  • A sound knowledge of computerized billing system.
  • Able to work with Microsoft Office especially Words and Excel.
  • Able work long hours and after hours as required.
  • Ability to lead and manage teams.
  • High Interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems.
  • Able to coach and develop staff.
