The Opportunity 

The University of the South Pacific is seeking to recruit a qualified candidate for the position of Student Learning Specialist to be based at Tonga Campus. The successful candidate will be required to plan, prepare, implement, manage, supervise and facilitate student support activities in academic and study skills activities and resources for the Student Support Section of Tonga Campus to promote student learning. Successful candidate will be reporting to the Campus Director. 

The appointee will be required to prepare, implement, manage, supervise and facilitate the academic and study skills activities and resources for the Student Learning Support section in Tonga campus. 

The Person We Seek 

To be considered for this position, applicants must have: Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards Postgraduate qualifications in Linguistic and/ or literature or Humanities, English as a second language and extensive relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise; work experience in secondary/tertiary teaching; excellent interpersonal and English communication skills ( both oral and written); experience in giving academic support to students; experience working with learners in the Pacific region; ability to work without supervision; and ability to work under tight schedules and meet deadlines. 

Remuneration 

The position is available for a term of 3 years and may be renewed by mutual agreement. 

Salary Range: Level 2 TOP $54,680 to TOP $66,234 per annum
