Seven Tongan beauties registered for the Miss Heilala Pageant 2012-13 made their first public appearance this afternoon, a beautiful sunny day, during an orientation program at the Liku’alofa Beach Resort, Kanokupolu, Tongatapu.
Seven girls have joined the 2012 Miss Heilala Pageant and will take part in an orientation program at Liku’alofa Beach Resort on Friday, July 20 before the Pageant begins next week at Pangai Lahi.
Registrations for Tonga’s 2012-13 Miss Heilala Pageant remain open and so far, four contestants, including two local and two overseas girls have registered, while the organisers expect more to enter the pageant that runs from July 23-28.
The 2012 Heilala Festival will run for 12 days from July 16-28, and according Tonga’s Ministry of Tourism, will be shorter than usual because of the death of HM King George Tupou V.
A colourful float parade with the newly crowned Miss Heilala 2011-12 Liberty Afeaki concluded the annual Heilala Festival and Miss Heilala Pageant in Nuku’alofa today, with thousands of people lining Taufa’ahau Road to enjoy the display.
