    : 'On The Spot', a talented young Tongan singing group received an award for the "Best Commonwealth Band/Artist" musical video, at Marlborough House, London on August 12, 2010, International Youth Day. Three girls, singers 'Emeline Kite, Minaira Fifita and Nisyola Fifita, and two boys, guitarist Samiu 'Ofa and cinematographer Malani Wolfgram travelled to London to receive their award.

    : Tonga is sending four contingents of soldiers to Afghanistan to support the Western Allied War on Terror. The Tongan Prime Minister, Dr Feleti Sevele in an interview said that Tonga has previously supported requests from both the USA and the UK for soldiers to fight their battles overseas.
