Halani Aulika signs with Sale Sharks [1]

Ikale Tahi prop, Halani Aulika, has signed with Sale Sharks earlier this week after spending four seasons with London Irish.

The BBC reports the 32-year-old Tongan played for Auckland and Otago in New Zealand and also for the Highlanders in Super Rugby.

Aulika also played for Tonga in the 2011 and 2015 Rugby World Cup and was a member of Tonga’s Pacific Nations Cup Squad last year.

Sale Sharks Director of Rugby, Steve Diamond said that he had been watching Aulika all season and didn’t hesitate signing him when his agent got in touch.

“He is a great scrummager and puts himself about on the pitch. I am sure he will be a big asset for us next season and beyond."

At 6ft 3ins and weighing 120kg, Aulika is regarded as a dominant tighthead and a regular try scorer.
