Tonga team for Commonwealth Games 2014 [1]

Tonga will be represented at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in four sports by 15 athletes including two bronze medalist boxers Uaine Fa Jr and Lomalito Moala.
The games will be held from 23 July to 3 August with the opening ceremony on Wednesday evening 23 July (Glasgow) which is early Thursday morning (Tonga local time).
Local members of the athletics and the weightlifting team departed Tonga on Tuesday, 15 July.
Takitoa Taumoepeau the TASA Secretary-General said today that Tonga will complete in boxing, swimming, athletics and weightlifting.
Uaine Fa Jr who will be Tonga's flag bearer at the opening ceremony leads the boxing team that are based and trained in New Zealand. He and Lomalito won bronze medals at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi.
The team's participation at the games was made possible with financial assistance from the Tongan Government toward airfares and funds for participating covered by the organizing committee, he said.
TASA President Lady Tu’ivakano is expected to travel to the games with Lord Vaea, the Minister of Internal Affairs and Sports.
