First day of the Inter-college Athletics Competition 2014

Thousands of students from schools from around Tonga have gathered at Teufaiva stadium in Nuku’alofa yesterday, 15 April for the annual Inter-college Athletics Competition 2014. 

The three day competition commenced yesterday 16 April 2014 with athletic teams from 19 secondary and middle schools participating.

An all-Ha'apai Secondary Schools team is participating, while from Vava'u, only Mailefihi Siui'ilikutapu College is participating. 'Eua and the Niuas are not participating this year.

This year is the 90th anniversary of the competition.
