Tonga Communications Corporation invites applications for the following positions.
1.PROJECT MANAGER
The position will carry out the following duties:
- The Project Manager at Tonga Communications Corporation (TCC) will play a crucial role in planning, organizing, and managing projects related to telecommunications services.
- The Project Manager will ensure the successful execution of projects, from inception to completion, while monitoring their performance and maintaining efficient communication with various divisions and stakeholders within the organization.
- The Project Manager should possess strong expertise in project management tools, ICT or telecommunication knowledge, and effective communication skills
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication, ICT, Engineering or Business Administration OR relevant work experience
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years work experience in project management, preferably in ICT or telecommunication
- Strong proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project and Excel
- Excellent organizational, communication and leadership skills
- Proven track record of successfully delivering projects and within budget
- Sound knowledge of telecommunication services, technologies and trends.
Remuneration
- Salary Level I ($47,000 – $55,000) p.a. Salary entry point, depends on qualification and experience.
- Successful Applicant will be on 6 months’ probation.

2. LEGAL OFFICER
The position will carry out the following duties:
- Court Cases
- Appear in court under direction of Legal Counsel for recovery of Company’s debtors
- Conduct legal research for TCC legal cases and internal investigations
- Legal Documents
- Review, interpret and assist in amending all legal documents and related matters
- Provide a sound legal opinion on the interest of the Company
- Legal Administration
- Oversee all administrative matters and legal operations of the
- Any other Legal and Official duties required by the Legal Counsel, Chief Administration Officer or Chief Executive Officer.
Qualification
- Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognized tertiary institution
- Has been admitted to the legal bar in Tonga or in any common law jurisdiction
- At least 5 to 10 years of relevant working experience and a demonstrable experience within the area of Law
- Good understanding of the Tongan legal system and practice
- Excellent compute skills, experience in public speaking, fluent in both Tongan and English written and verbal communications.
- Time management skills, Team oriented approach, Ability to remain resilient under pressure, Ability to take accurate records, innovative etc.
Remuneration
- Salary Level J ($31,000 – $46,000) p.a. Salary entry point, depends on qualification and experience.

3. SUPERVISOR – ‘EUA BRANCH
The position will carry out the following duties:
- Supervise and oversee the day-to-day operation of the Branch
- Monitor staff performance & ensure compliance to company procedures and policies
- Monitor branch work plan and sales targets
- Prepare and monitor branch annual budget
- Ensure properties and motor vehicles are kept clean, safe and in healthy environment
Qualification
- Diploma in Business Management OR; Higher from Recognized Institutions
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managerial role.
- Experience in telecommunication is an advantage.
- Good public relation skills and commercial astuteness.
- Excellent oral and written communications both in Tongan and English.

4. HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER
The position will out the following duties:
- Manage recruitment and selection process and logistics.
- Assist in enforcing Company’s Policy; Process and Procedure.
- Management of Staff Record & Filing System
- Carry out job description compilation on yearly base
- Production of POTATALA Newsletter
- Manage Annual Employee Survey
- Oversee other administrative tasks
Qualification
- Degree or Diploma in Business Administration; Human Resource Management with 2 years of experience in area of administration.
- Certificate in Business or Management with 3 years’ experience in administration or human resource
- Excellent verbal and written communications – Tonga and English
- Team player; Interpersonal skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Remuneration
- Salary Level M ($17,000 – $26,000) p.a. Salary entry point, depends on qualification and experience.

5. Lead Accountant – Financial Planning and Budgeting Control
This position will carry out the following duties:
A. Financial Policies and Procedures
- Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures and costing standard
- Define financial Key Performance Indicators (KPI) in coordination with the Financial Monitoring and Analysis function
- Provide financial guidelines related to all company investment, divestiture and capital expenditures
- Develop, maintain, review and update financial regulations and authority definition
B. Financial Planning, Monitoring and Analysis
- Assist division and support functions in developing financial plans and consolidate submitted financial plans
- Develop company financial plan (revenues, prices, costs, investment)
- Develop guidelines for capital allocation process in cooperation with the Financial Policies and Procedures Department
- Forecast company financial performance
- Provide support to the Strategic Planning Department on developing the long- term strategic plan
- Develop financial performance evaluation process Benchmark overhead costs
- Measure financial KPI’s variances (target versus actual) and provide solutions and recommendations to the Management and Board of Directors
- Implement controls of Support Functions and measure spending against benchmarks
- Maintain cost accounting standard
Qualification
- Bachelor / Diploma in Accounting or Higher Education
- At least 3 to 5 years of working experience in area of accounting
- Communication Skills – Clear communication is essential for presenting financial information to stakeholders and collaborating with other department
- Teamwork – Collaborating with cross-functional terms and working effectively with colleagues in different department
- Leadership – As a Lead Accountant you may be responsible for guiding and mentoring junior staff, so leadership skills are valuable

6. Assistant Engineer Network Planning Core Network
This position will carry out the following duties:
- Provide technical and administrative assistance in planning, implementing, monitoring and maintaining the Core Networks infrastructure projects.
- Collaborates closely with the Senior Engineer, supporting documentation, site surveys, cost estimations, project records and stakeholder communications to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery.
- Assist in developing strategic recommendations to facilitate continuous improvement in the operational efficiency of Network Planning and to enhance overall network performance
Qualification
- Diploma in Telecommunication, Electronics or related engineering field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in general telecommunications operations and maintenance with a focus on network planning.
- Comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices involved in the planning and design of telecommunications infrastructure
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
- Excellence communication in English and Tongan, both written and verbal
