VACANCIES

• Community Registration Assistants (CRA)

The Government of Tonga, in collaboration with the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and the World Bank, invites applications from qualified individuals to serve as Community Registration Assistants (CRAs) for the forthcoming Community Registration Campaign under the Social Registry of Tonga (SRT).

CRAs will assist households to complete digital self-registration forms during organized community registration events across Tongatapu and ʻEua.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist households to complete digital questionnaires using tablets
  • Explain the purpose of the Social Registry and obtain informed consent
  • Provide technical and procedural support during community events
  • Ensure data quality and report any issues to the team coordinator
  • Support grievance redress processes, including helping to record and submit complaints

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a survey enumerator will be an advantage
  • Experience in community engagement, data collection, or customer service
  • Completion of secondary education (post-secondary training is an advantage)
  • Confident using tablets or laptops; basic troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly in Tongan and basic English
  • Willingness and physical ability to travel across rural communities in Tongatapu and ʻEua

Assignment Details:

  • Registration will take place over a period of approximately 3 months
  • CRAs will be expected to work 2 to 3 days per week, based on the field schedule
  • The broader assignment period spans 5 to 6 months, including training, preparation, and possible follow-up activities
  • Locations: Villages on Tongatapu and ʻEua
  • A mandatory training will be provided before field deployment
  • A daily allowance will be provided in accordance with project guidelines
