The Government of Tonga has received financing from the World Bank (Bank) toward the cost of the Pathway to Sustainable Oceans Project (Tongafish Pathway) and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for the works for the Upgrade of the Sopu Mariculture Center.

Eligible bidders should have experience with civil and building minor maintenance activities of this nature. Evidence of financial resources to successfully complete the Works is required to be provided and the bidder should be aware of the requirement that payment will be completed upon completion of each milestone and approval by Client of works.

The Ministry of Fisheries now invites eligible contracting firms (“Contractor”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Contractors should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services described below and further detailed in the TOR.

The Contractor shall furnish a technical proposal including a statement of work methods, equipment, personnel, schedule and any other relevant information, in sufficient detail to demonstrate the adequacy of its proposal to meet the work’s requirements and the completion time.

A complete set of Request for Quotation Civil Works (RFQ) documents in English will be provided to interested eligible bidders upon the submission of a written or electronic application to the address provided below or accessible in the link here:

The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraph 3.14, 3.16 and 3.17 of the World Bank’s Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers November 2020 (“the Regulations”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.
