CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT AS A JUDGE OF THE SUPREME COURT OF THE KINGDOM OF TONGA
The Judicial Appointments and Discipline Panel, established by the Constitution of the Kingdom of Tonga, makes recommendations to the King in Privy Council on the appointment of eminently qualified persons to the Judiciary.
The Panel hereby invites applications for appointment as a Judge of the Supreme Court of the Kingdom of Tonga.
The commencement date for the appointment is expected to be by agreement as soon as practicable after 1 December 2020. The term of appointment will be four years. The principal practice area will be criminal law. Applicants must have been qualified to practise in a common law jurisdiction of unlimited jurisdiction for no less than ten years with extensive experience in criminal law.
Other proposed terms and conditions of the appointment shall be provided upon application.
