A former accounts officer of the Tonga Post Ltd. who has pleaded guilty to five counts of embezzling $22,000 pa’anga, has been warned he can expect a prison sentence.
Two prolific thieves were sentenced to five years and six years imprisonment for a string of housebreakings, and theft of goods worth over $20,000 from 15 different homes, in four towns across the Eastern district of Tongatapu.
Justice Robert Shuster imposed a four years suspended sentence on a 48-year-old father from Ha’ateiho who was convicted of incest and indecent assault, which he committed on his two daughters in 2008.
