A 56-year-old man from Pahu was found dead by a security guard at Faua Wharf in Nuku'alofa on Monday evening December 9.

The security guard told police that at around 5:30pm he first saw the man alive and sitting outside Reef Café located at the wharf.

The security guard went to help unload cargo from the‘Eua ferry at 6:00pm and when he came back he saw the same man lying on the same spot. He tried to wake him up but found out he was not breathing. The police were called and the man was rushed to Vaiola Hospital where he was confirmed dead.

Police said that their Investigation into the circumstances of the death were continuing.
