Primary school students from several Government Middle Schools (GMS) across Tongatapu were introduced to the basics of table tennis during a school festival, organised by the Tonga Table Tennis Federation, held at Queen Salote Memorial Hall in Nuku’alofa today.
The festival featured fun beginner games and activities designed to help children develop their coordination, confidence and teamwork skills through sport.
Exercises in ball handling are designed to develp the player's focus and balance.
Participating schools included Nuku’alofa Government Middle School, Tokomololo Government Middle Schools and Acts Community School.
Table tennis officials guided students through simple drills and interactive games, to encourage participation and enjoyment of the sport.
The activities also helped students build communication and social skills in a supportive environment.
