Tonga Police warns public to avoid investment scam [1]

Tonga Police has warned the Public to avoid participation in the BG Wealth Sharing fundraising programme, following a central bank warning about the scheme.

Tonga Police stated today that a formal notice from the National Reserve Bank of Tonga (NRBT) has confirmed that BG Wealth Sharing is offering an investment scam.

"The public is reminded that it is illegal to initiate, donate to, advertise, implement, finance, or manage any pyramid or Ponzi scheme, and such actions may result in criminal prosecution," Tonga Police stated.

Police advised the public to report suspicious activities to the Tonga Police Cybercrime Unit.
