Voter registration closes for General Election [1]

Voter registrations have closed for the 20 November general election, the Tonga Electoral Commission (TEC) announced today, 6 November.
The Office of the Electoral Commission had been accepting late registrations since September, providing a final opportunity for the public to register, particularly those who turned 21 after the initial registration deadline, 18 September.
The Supervisor of Elections, Pita Vuki said that the total number of late registrations will be finalised before the election. The provisional voter figures released by the Electoral Commission in February indicated a total of 62,000 voters in Tonga.
On election day, Thursday, 20 November, polling stations will be open from 9:00am to 4:00pm for registred voters to vote for the People's Representatives. Tongan voters are required to bring national IDs, passports, or birth certificates to the polling stations.
The Nobles Representatives will vote among themselvesm from 10am to 12:00pm on the same day.
