14 nobles stand for seats in Legislature, Fotofili declared for Niuas [1]

Fourteen nobles are standing for election to the nine noble's seats in the Legislative Assembly. HSH Prince Kalaniuvalu Fotofili, the incumbent noble for the Niuas, was the sole candidate for the Niuas and has therefore been declared elected by the Electoral Commission Office.
Some nobles who hold mulitple estates have registered as candidates in more than one island group.
There are eight incumbent nobles seeking re-election. However, Lord Fohe, the incumbent noble's representative no.3 for Tongatapu, is not among the candidates this election.
Of the nine noble's seats in the Legislative Assembly of Tonga, three seats are reserved for Tongatapu, one for 'Eua, two each for Ha'apai and Vava'u, and one for the Niuas.
Tonga's nobles will vote for the candidates in a separate ballot on 20 November, the same day as the General Election for the the People's Representatives.
Tonga has 33 hereditary noble titles, with some holding more than one title. There are also five Life Peers that can stand and cast votes in the Noble's Election.
