Tonga’s National Junior Tennis Team is currently in French Polynesia, Tahiti to participate at the East Pacific Regional Championships (EPRC) starting today, 8 to 16 April 2024.

This championship is an anual International Tennis Federation (ITF) event for several Oceania Federations, including Tahiti, Cook Islands, Samoa, American Samoa and Tonga.

The National Junior Team consists of seven female players and eight male players. Travelling with them are four team officials, including the team manager, finance manager, coach and a parent.

"The tournament will provide the young players exposure and the opportunity to experience competitive tennis at an international level," the federation reported.

This will also contribute to the development of the sport in Tonga and the children’s talents, and assist in improving Tonga’s rankings in the Oceania Region.
