Strong Wind Warning for the Niuas [1]

A strong Wind Warning remains in force for Niuafo‘ou and Niuatoputapu as a trough of low pressure associated with a tropical depression over Fiji remains slow moving over Tonga.

A Weather Bulletin for Tonga issued by the National Weather Forecast Centre at Fua‘amotu at 11:10am this morning stated the strong wind warning for the Niuas will bring fresh North to Northeast winds gusty at times with cloudy periods and heavy showers.

For the Niuas waters a strong wind warning remains in force with winds up to 20/25 knots gusting up to 30 knots at times, with rough seas and moderate northerly swells.

For elsewhere in the Tonga group, the marine weather bulletin forecast north easterly winds at 15/20 knots with moderate northerly swell.

Meanwhile, the capital experienced a cloudy weather with rain yesterday with winds gusting up to 15/20 knots over central Tonga and southern Tonga.

The sun came out on Monday morning, but the outlook exepects showers will continue.
