Dr. Fotu Kuohiko Valeli Fisi'iahi has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer for the Ministry of Public Enterprises. Dr. Fisi'iahi signed a four year contract on 26 February, at the Public Service Commission, Nuku'alofa.

Dr. Fisi'iahi comes from the villages of Niutoua, 'Eueiki, Kolonga, Lapaha, and Fatumu, Tongatapu.

His career in the Public Service began in 1985 as a Junior Clerk, then in 1991, he was appointed to the position of Senior Executive Officer at the Ministry of Labour, Commerce and Industries.

In 2000, he was promoted to the position of Assistant Secretary at the Labour Division, and was later promoted as Deputy Secretary in 2001, where he served until 2006 within the same Ministry.

Dr. Fisi'iahi left the country but then returned shortly. Upon return, he was appointed to the Chief Executive Officer position at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on 25 of February 2019, where he served for four years. After completing his contract, the Commission reappointed him for the same position on 19 of May 2023, until 6 of June 2023, when he resigned to run for the parliamentary seat for Tongatapu 10 constituency.

He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Development Economics from the University of Wollongong in Australia (2007), Master of Commerce in Industrial Relations (2000) and a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Relations (1999) also from the University of Wollongong in Australia.
