Women's group present harvest to Princess Pilolevu [1]

Member, Asupa Leota said the group planned to grow healthy food for their families. She said they planted their vegetables and herbs at their homes in April and now to celebrated their harvest with a presentation to the Princess.
"This is also the first time for the majority of the group to grow vegetables. We help each other and share what seeds we have. Most of us plant only what the family likes to eat.”
The group grow herbs such as arugula, mint, oregano, dill, parsley, coriander, basil, rosemary, turmeric, ginger, and lemongrass.
Their vegetables incldue tomatoes, different types of lettuces and cabbages, bokchoy, sweet corn, chillies, pepsicum, okra, beets, cucumber, spring onion, passion fruit, hawaiian papaya, vi, rock melon, and watermelon.
“Our goal is to encourage everyone to grow their own vegetables and herbs to help their families save money and eat healthy.”
“If another lockdown happens, then at least we have food in our backyard. We are calling on all of Tonga to join us and grow your own vegetables and herbs and teach our children to eat healthy,” said Asupa.
The group have nine members including Asupa, Tafolosa Bloomfield, Susana Prema, Liz Cowley, Malia Cocker, 'Eseta Koloamatangi, Tala Ma'afu, Toa Filimoe'unga Palu, and Ruby Ma'afu.
