Neiafu GPS wins Vava'u soroban competition [1]

Neiafu Government Primary School students won the annual Vava'u Soroban competition held on August 1.
The top students in class 3 and 4 written category will be representing Vava'u Primary Schools in the National Soroban Competition in March, 2020 in Nuku'alofa.
They are ‘Ana Kasimea from Neiafu GPS who won class 3 written examination and ‘Ofa Loloa of Liviela GPS, for class 4.
More than 300 soroban students from classes 3, 4 & 5 competed in three examinations including written, oral and flash.
Other top students in each level were also awarded prizes.
Meanwhile, Tongatapu Distrcit soroban competition for central, eastern and western districts starts this month.
Soroban education strengthens mathematics skills of the young students, with the annual competition a joint event held by the Japanese Embassy and Ministry of Education.
