Prince Taufa‘ahau receives school gifts from Ebina, Japan [1]

A gift of school supplies and letters of friendship from children in Ebina, Japan, were received by Prince Taufa‘ahau Manumataongo and Princess Halaevalu Mata‘aho on behalf of the school children in Tonga, on July 11 at the Palace Office in Nuku‘alofa.
The President of NBK Corporation, Mr Kuribayashi presented the letters and school supplies collected by the Mayor and school children of Ebina City for the school children in Tonga.
The donation includes 20,000 different items including notebooks and pencils that will be distributed to students in Tonga through the Ministry of Education.
Tonga’s Ambassador to Japan, H.E. Lady Tania Tupou Fusitu’a thanked Crown Princess Sinaitakala Tuku'aho and her two children for attending the event, marking Tonga and Japan's relations.
She said that the Imperial House of Japan and Tonga’s Royal Household have longstanding and friendly ties.
School children from Fasi each received a small gift presented by the young Prince and Princess.
NBK Corporation has organized and made similar presentations in the past, as they have been operating various projects in Tonga for many years.
