King Tupou VI opened the Tongatapu Royal Agriculture, Fisheries, Tourism and Trade Show 2019 at the Fungamanamo'ui Showground, on Saturday 22 June 2019, and awarded trophies for the best displays.
The King and Queen Nanasipau'u attended by government ministers and officials toured the show.
Thousands of visitors enjoyed a variety of colourful displays and purchased products.
Traditional rootcrops, a variety of vegetables, handicrafts, plants, flowers, fish, woodwork, and many other displays filled the showgrounds. The Tongatapu Show was held early this year as a lead-in to the King's 60th birthday celebrations.
The Agricutural Shows continue in the outer islands over the next month: Ha’apai on July 16, Vava’u on July 19, Niuafo’ou on July 24, and Niuatoputapu on July 26, before concluding in ‘Eua on August 2.
