Dear Editor:

I was first appalled and outraged by the very insensitive and disrespectful remarks by Mr. Laws concerning our beloved Monarch His Late Majesty King Taufa'ahau Tupou IV. However, I now find it rather amusing how Mr. Laws has exposed his ignorance and bigotry for all to see.

Perhaps Mr. Laws ought to be more concerned about cleaning up his own backyard and skeletons concerning the Maori people's plight in New Zealand before daring to "save" Tonga. I'm not surprised though, this is typical colonialism mindset.

The Late King has left a legacy which many here have already alluded to, so I won't make further mention of that, he will always be remembered and loved by his people for generations to come. Mr. Laws however has gotten his ten minutes of fame, and ten minutes is all he deserves if even that. A boycott however is in order.
