80 graduates in USP Tonga graduation ceremony [1]

More than 80 graduates from the University of the South Pacific Tonga Campus celebrated their graduation in Nuku’alofa on Friday, October 19.
The Chancellor of USP, H.E President of Kiribati Mr Taneti Maamau conferred the degrees that included Master and Bachelor degrees as well as diplomas and certificates, at Falemasiva Hall in Tailulu College.
Masters were awarded in Education and Arts in Development Studies with Bachelor degrees in Arts, Education, Education (Primary), Agriculture, and Commerce. In addition, to post graduate diplomas, professional diplomas and certificates.
The Minister of Education Hon Penisimani Fifita attended the graduation ceremony, USP officials with many parents and families.
The Vice Chancellor’s Address was delivered by Professor Richard Coll, Acting Vice Chancellor and President USP.
One of the graduates, ‘Aunofo Havea, a well known Tongan seafarer, was awarded a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Gaining this qualification means she will be able to conduct training and assessment in seafaring. She is a licenced master of vessels less than 500 gross tons and at present she is the only female captain of yachts and kalia in Tonga.
